A high quality early childhood program provides a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. Where I work one issue regarding quality is serving healthier lunch choices at the school cafeteria. Since I in private school, Parents pay for everything and their expectations are high. Therefore there constant complain about serving frozen heated food for children. The school provide teachers professional training every year and also classes to learn about safety and first aid in cases of emergencies. As I mentioned in my professional introduction about myself, it’s always been my goal in life to become an early year’s teacher and see children achieve their ambitions and helping them to achieve what they want in life is a big ambition of mine. Educating, learning and inspiring children are my goals in my professional career. I have always wanted to play a big role in children educatio...
Sharing Web Resources For my search this week, I was lucky to find DC Action for Children. They formed the nonprofit DC Action for Children to help break the cycle of poverty through early interventions in the lives of DC’s youngest children. DC Action for Children worked to improve outcomes for children by focusing on a broad array of issues, including early care and education, child welfare, child health and youth development. In the websites blog section, I found article related to equity and excellence in early child education. They posted a blog discussion and it's Committing to Equity and Excellence for Young Black Children examine  critical issue of providing access to quality early childhood programs to African American children. In a collaboration with the Center on Enhancing Early Leaning Outcomes  and the  The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans  their brief addre...
This week I explored the  Harvard University’s “Global Children’s Initiative” website  and the new insight I found is Saving Brains,  which is a program of Grand Challenges Canada; they are seeking bold ideas with real-world impact that also have the potential to be scaled up. To this end, innovative approaches and sound evaluation are expected to test how the intervention should be delivered to reach the highest number of children , how the intervention should be optimized to have the most impact on each child reached , and how to financially sustain this impact at scale. . Their mission is “Saving and improving lives in low- and lower-middle-income countries through integrated innovation”. Their primary priority is: “Solving critical global health challenges”. Saving Brains is a partnership of Grand Challenges Canada, Aga Khan Foundation Canada, The Bernard van Leer Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The ELMA Foundation, Grand Challenges Ethi...
Sharing Web Resources I chose National Head Start Association in the section about us, it explains the importance of head start programs to vulnerable children.   Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood education and it is essential because it benefits children, families, and communities. They use evidence-based practices and partner with community-based organizations to help remove child and family barriers to success. The Head Start investment is effective and means that children are more likely to graduate from high school and college, are less likely to need special education services, and are less likely to repeat grades.  We are proud of the positive impact Head Start has on our society, one child at a time.   Head Start programs work collaboratively with local schools, childcare providers, community service providers, and families to meet the needs of a new generation and ensure all children have a brighter future. In 2013 Head Start progra...
