Research that Benefits Children and Families The research topic that I chose is How Parental Involvement Benefit Kids and this topic bring many positive contributions to early childhood. Based on my experience working in the field I have seen that parental Involvement fosters academic achievement when their parents are involved with their schoolwork. Compared to students whose parents are uninvolved, kids with involved parents get better grades and are thought more highly of by teachers. Also, working with Kids, I have noticed kids whose parents are involved with their schoolwork attend school more regularly than kids whose parents are uninvolved. I think this probably occurs for a number of reasons. For example, I can relate to myself my parents who were involved, they kept encouraging consistent attendance and I always wanted to make them proud. Personal Research Journey I chose to do my research on dual language learning. My interest in this topic developed from my previous course while studying about diversity and demographic changes and my research topic is  influenced by my background. My  family and I immigrated to the United States from Iraq, and my nationality is Armenian. Therefore, we speak Armenian at home and also Arabic. My son is 15 months old born in the United States and conceder’s second-generation immigrants.  We want him to learn Armenian language and the culture as well. We speak Armenian with him at home and it the only language he knows. He will eventually will learn English at school and he don't want him to forget his native language.
